This is a typical example of how people recover within 4-5 visits
Your lower back, hip, and knee will be assessed on your first visit. You will learn three to four gentle exercises, the importance of movement and about heat vs. ice. If your hip muscle is weak, once you master the exercise, you learn how to activate it while walking and on stairs. Once you master walking and stairs, it is no longer necessary to do the exercise.
Stretches to do and stretches and strengthening exercises to avoid will be discussed, to balance your muscles and alleviate your symptoms as soon as possible.
If your foot muscle is weak, you will learn the amazing foot strengthening exercise that allowed Amy to abandon all orthopaedic footwear after twenty years of dependence. Your feet were designed to absorb shock, not knees and hips, so tuning up weak feet is a priority.
Ultrasound, Acuhealth, cupping and/or tape may be recommended as part of your treatment to speed up symptomatic relief and promote a strong nerve signal to your muscles.
On a follow-up visit, your ankle range of motion/flexibility will be assessed in WBing and treated as needed (see next blog for more info). Your balance will be assessed and treated as needed.
We will discuss any activities that you are having difficulty with and strategize solutions.
